Albums

Albums are one of our specialties! This why each of our packages includes some sort of custom designed album. Typically, our designers will begin album design as soon as possible after your wedding day. Of course any requests for images or suggestions are always welcome. Once we have an initial design, this is posted to the web for your review. From there, you can request any changes you might like to see- from swapping out images to adding more pages, modifying a spread and so on. The important aspect is that nothing is sent to be printed and bound until you approve the design. The albums in any package may be upgraded to another album for the full price of the album. As example, The Studio Pro includes the Deluxe Flush Mount Album, a value of $999. You could apply this $999 to a 12x12 Fine Art Album. The 12x12 price is $1999 - $999 for a final price of $1000.

Art Z Angel is also more than happy to design your album even if you didn't use our services for photography. Keep in mind of course that we must have permission to use the images and we are limited by the quality and size of images provided. And these don't need to be just wedding albums! They can be albums of children growing, special family vacations, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvah's and more. The one thing I have found through the years is that nothing makes a better gift than an album!

There is such a wide range of choices, it would be impossible to list them all. Just tell us what you want and we will strive to make it happen.

The Art Z Angel Fine Art Album

The Fine Art Album is available in a variety of sizes, pages and cover materials, the most popular being 5x5 (as a parent album), 12x12 and 11x14. Each page is custom designed with that Art Z Angel flair. Once you approve the page design, we have prints made. These prints are then lacquered (textures available) & mounted into a flush-mount, library bound album. A flush mount means that no part of the image is lost in the binding or gutter. You have your choice of album covers including Gramercy Leather or even brushed stainless steel. We like to think of the 11x14 album as our signature StoryBook Album. The extra large page size allows us to create beautiful scenes with montages and overlays. Render dramatic black & white prints or create stunning visual effects. This is what we do best! Pricing varies on options chosen. Option include front cameo images, deluxe storage boxes, cover materials and more. Here are some common album/size pricing:

Standard Flush Mount Albums, 10x10

Simple flush mount albums differ from the Fine Art albums in two ways. First, these albums have a simpler construction than the Fine Art Albums; simpler binding and pages. Second, the Simple Flush Mount Albums use preset templates to create the pages. The Fine Art Album pages are completely custom designed. Of course we are still able to swap photos in and out of the templates as you would like.

The Deluxe Flush Mount Album 10-pages/20-sides $999 -----> Included in the Studio Pro Rate & Weekend Warrior Rates

This album shares many of the same features as the Fine Art Album including rounded corners on the pages and a front cameo image if desired. Pages can also be added one at a time.

The Simple Flush Mount Album 8-pages/16-sides $799

This is a great way to get a flush mount album at a darn good price! Pages must be added four at a time. In other words you start with 8-pages, the next step is 12-pages, 16-pages and finally the maximum is 20-pages.

Coffee Table Albums & Photobooks

Coffee Table Albums come in all shapes and sizes. Coffee Table Albums are typically defined by their glued (sometimes stitched) binding and thin, magazine type, printed page. This type of binding looses part of the image in the gutter (center of the binding). All of our Coffee Table Albums are custom designed- no templates.

Deluxe Coffee Table Album or Photobook 10x10 10-pages, 20 sides $749

This album offers the highest quality in the coffee table book line. We custom design each 10x10 page. Its pages have a laminate protective coating in either a Matte or a Glossy finish to preserve its appearance for years to come. A hardcover book bound is used. It also features a printed book jacket and exclusive red or black book case with personalized silver hot stamping. Please note that with a Book Bound Album, you loose up to 1/2” of an image of in the binding or gutter. Other sizes available if desired. You really must see this album to appreciate it!

The Photobook

Our newest album offering is the Photobook. Available in a variety of sizes this album makes a great wedding album and is also frequently used a parent album. Similar to a Coffee Table album but with a sturdier page and you don't lose any of the image in the gutter. Since it's introduction, this has quickly become one of our more popular albums!

Our Digital Darkroom

Many photographers simply have a computer at home and that qualifies as their Digital Darkroom. It is common practice for many photographers to send their files to different online services to design albums. Often times, there is a charge to change album designs since this requires the page to be uploaded to the designer, the designer to modify the page, and then sent back to the photographer.

Not Art Z Angel. All of our designs are in house. Our designs are custom. And we can modify them ourselves, for which there is no charge. Our design proofs are posted online for you to view. And we can set up time to review the design together as well. And remember, we don’t have the album printed & bound (which of course we do send out to have done!), until you approve the design!

Art Z Angel maintains a stringent workflow. For starters, we require our photographers to shoot in both the RAW & JPEG mode (provided the camera allows this, otherwise we require the RAW file). The RAW file simply gives us the greatest post-processing flexibility. The RAW + JPEG is an added layer of security when shooting a wedding: every image is recorded twice thereby reducing the risk of losing an image. Once I have the flash cards from a wedding the images are loaded onto the computer, then back up DVDs are made of the original images. Once these DVD back ups are made, another back up is made of the images on a separate hard drive. Only then do we delete the images from the memory cards! Sure, that is a lot of work- but talk to someone who has had their computer hard drive fail on them and you will know why we do it!

After that the fun begins. Our Digital Darkroom consists of more than just a computer. We have several actually. Our two main workstations each use two monitors with one monitor dedicated to just seeing your image. This allows us to see more detail as our image isn't crowded with several pallets and other information. And this second monitor is color calibrated so that we know we are seeing what a print will look like. And trust me, there can be a big difference! And then we have loads of software to bring out the best in every image. Of course we use Photoshop for image manipulation but we also have several Photoshop plug-ins: Nik filters, Photographic Edges, Noise Ninja and more. On top of that, we have several customizable actions as well! This all amounts to several thousands of dollars of software at our disposal to allow us to create true works of art for you! Again, something a bit more than a camera and computer.
